Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell (born in New York City) is a American TV reporter, journalist anchor and commentator for NBC News based at Washington D.C. Mitchell holds a bachelor's degree in English language from the University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell began her career working as a TV and radio reporter at KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. 1976 Mitchell joined WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). In Washington, she was appointed general correspondent by NBC News two year later. 1980 began her coverage of the White House. 1988 became the chief congressional journalist. Mitchell was named as the head White House correspondent by NBC News in 1992. Mitchell hosted and participated as an expert panelist on the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell was a part of the panel at the 1988 Presidential Debates, which featured George Bush, and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell was awarded the prestigious Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and, in 2004, in 2004, the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) presented Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contribution to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering the White House in 1981-1988, both during Ronald Reagan's presidency. She covered many notable reports, including arm control, the budget tax and the Iran Contra scandal.
